Funeral services for Mr. James Evert Gunnels, 72, of Monroe were conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, November 3 from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home, Livingston with burial in Hatcher Hall Cemetery, Monroe, TN

Mr. Gunnels died November 1, 2006 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.  He was born October 9, 1934 in Pickett County to the late Walter and Gertrude Ruble Gunnels.  He was a retired construction worker, factory worker, & farmer.

He was a member of Hatcher Hall Christian Church.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Sells Gunnels of Monroe; daughter, Helen Keisling of Monroe; sons, James Darren Gunnels and Scott Gunnels, both of Monroe; brother, Edward Gunnels of Monroe; 2 grandchildren, Nathan Keisling and Emmitt Gunnels and 2 step-grandchildren, Brittany & Brandi Keisling.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Marene Garrett, Bonnie Melton, Monnie Gunnels, Madgelene Conner, Ethel Gunnels, & Wilma Melton.
