Funeral services for Mrs. Cordie Brown Norrod, 87, of Monroe will be conducted at 2 p.m., Saturday April 9 from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home, Livingston, TN with burial in Grant Norrod Cemetery, Monroe, TN. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.
Mrs. Norrod died April 7, 2005 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was born June 19, 1917 in Overton County to the late Davis and Nancy Copeland Brown. She was a housewife.
She was a member of Oak Dale Baptist Church.
She is survived by 2 sons, Kenneth (& Helen) Norrod and Bill (& Ann) Norrod, all of Monroe; daughter, Carolyn Peterman of Livingston; 5 grandchildren, Jeff Norrod and Sherry Blakely, both of Monroe, Sheila Norrod of Cookeville, Billy Joe Norrod of Livingston and Wendy Robbins of Ringgold, GA; 6 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Dean Fredericks of Rickman and Lucille Hibbard of Battle Creek, MI.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: A G Norrod, daughter, Eva Ruth Norrod and an infant son, sisters: Dimple Beasley, Beulah Jones, and Lois Wright, and brothers: Orville, Homer, Ray, and Carver Brown.
Serving as pallbearers are Henry Fredericks, Bob Larner, Jeff Norrod, Billy Joe Norrod, Steve Robbins, and Ethan Norrod. Honorary pallbearers are Jim, Larry, and Richard Hull, Junior and David Todd, Melvin, Donald, Gerald, and Colby Norrod, Joel Upton, and Sawyer Robbins.
