Mr. Byron William Allen, 80, of Livingston passed away February 12, 2002 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.  He was born August 24, 1921 in San Bernadino, California to the late William and Dee Garner Allen.  He was a blacksmith and structural engineer. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp during WWII. He is survived by his wife, Jodi Cates Allen of Livingston; step-sons, Dr. Jamie Cates and Dino Cates, both of Allons, Michael Cates of Hubbardstown, Massachusetts, and Chris Cates of San Clemente, California; 11 grandchildren; 1 niece and 1 nephew. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Care Fund at Cookeville Regional Medical Center, Cookeville, TN.
