Location - First Christian Church, Livingston
Visitation - Wednesday, 5 - 9 p.m
Burial Service - Overton County Memorial Gardens

 

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Copeland, age 91, of Livingston will be conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, December 23, 2010 from the First Christian Church with Dr. Lyle Anderson and Rev. Dee Wells officiating. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens in Livingston. The family will receive friends at Speck Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5 p.m.until 9 p.m.
The body will lie in state at the church from 10 a.m. until time for services at 11 a.m.

Mrs. Copeland died December 21, 2010 at Life Care of Sparta in Sparta, TN. She was born August 26, 1919 in Pickett County to the late Butler and Susan Garrett Hicks. She was an inspector for Kellogg's.

She was a member of the First Christian Church Diciples of Christ in Livingston.

She is survived by 4 daughters, Rita Cantrell of Ringgold, GA, Linda White of Livingston, Sue Copeland of Cookeville, and Pat Copeland of Livingston; 6 grandchildren & 15 great-grandchildren; 2 step-daughters, Helen Lynde of Clemons, NC and Carol Huber of Sanford, NC; 4 step-grandchildren & 5 step-great-grandchildren; special niece, Maxine Carr and several other nieces & nephews. Special Sister-In-Law Dorothy Huddleston.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands Thurston Como Franklin and Clyde Preston Copeland, a granddaughter Carrie White, Sisters Ethel Winningham, Hestelle Hill,Tennie Tucker, and Elsie Hill, Brothers Alford Hicks and Earl Hicks.

Serving as Pallbearers are Scott Copeland, Steven Ryan Copeland, Cris Copeland, Mark Cantrell, Terrence Melton, Kendall Melton, and Kailen Melton, Jon Lynde, Tim Lynde, Scott Huber.
