Funeral services for Mr. Ronald S."Ron" Smith, age 72, of Monroe will be conducted at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 9, 2012 from the Speck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Copeland officiating. Burial will be in the Beaty Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday Afternoon from 2 until time of services at 4p.m.
Mr. Smith died Thursday evening June 7, 2012 at the Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born November 23, 1939 in Overton County to the late Richard Landen "Lands" & Mary Veatrice Winton Smith. He was a Farmer.
He is survived by his wife,Mary John Smith of Monroe; sons: Michael Smith & wife Tonie of Monroe, & Jeff Smith of Monroe; daughter: Marsha Norrod & husband Jeff of Monroe; brothers: Ken Smith of Monroe, Richard Smith & wife Sue of Nashville, & Larry Donald Smith & wife Thelma of Monroe; sister: Donna Sue Pierce & husband Larry of Monroe; Grandchildren: Hayden & Haylee Smith, Ethan & Elliot Norrod, & Stenson, Jenna & Dara Smith
He was preceded in death by his parents, sons: Ricky Smith & Randy Smith; brothers: Randell T. "Ran" Smith.
Pallbearers to serve are Ethan Norrod, Elliot Norrod, Hayden Smith, Stenson Smith, Tony Smith, Teddy Martin.
