To name a few of the boards he served on was LBJ, Overton County Fair, one of his favorites was the Rotary Club, where he was fundamental at getting the Rotary Ag Building Built.
After retireing for the extension office, Gene & his wife Maura started the TN BBQ. It was another passion of his to serve quality home cooked meals to his community. So sorry for his loss. Mr. Medley was an awesome 4-H agent in Hamblen county too, we missed him when he left and wasn't the same without him! He will be missed
I am sorry for your loss. I knew Gene through LBJC Headstart as a fellow board member. I am sorry to hear of his passing. My thoughts and prayers will be with you during this difficult time. May God comfort you in the days to come.
A kinder or more gentle man I have never met. His smile and leadership will be missed. May His Peace be with Gene and the Medley family.
I am so sad to hear about Gene. He was my UT Extension co-worker in Hamblen County in the early 1980's. He always was laughing and joking about whatever the situation was! Will miss hearing from him. Prayers to Maura and the family.
Gene was such a wonderful man. I enjoyed getting to know him while he was on the L.B.J. C. Board of Directors. He always had a smile on his face and was a positive inspiration to me.
I remember Gene as far back as I started as a 4-H member in DeKalb County back in the early 90s. Being from DeKalb County, we met and competed against Overton County in so many 4-H events over the years. Gene was one of those agents that you could tell really cared about his 4-Hers and the program. He was also a great sport to pick at anytime we saw each other. He will certainly be missed. The entire Medley family is in our prayers. Rest in peace, my friend.
So sorry for your loss.... a great co-worker and friend. He will be greatly missed...Prayers for Maura and the family.

My thoughts and prayers to the family. Gene was a very nice man. He was very easy to work with. He cared deeply about his staff and always tried to do the best he could for them. He will be greatly missed.
I enjoyed working with Gene for several years here in the county. He was a joy to be around. He will be missed by all that knew him.
So sorry to hear of Gene's passing. He was so wonderful to my children in 4-H, as well as in the community. Prayers for the family. He surely will be missed!
Gene will certainly be missed by many people as he had such a positive impact on everyone.
So sorry for your loss!
Maura family, there is so little one can say, but my heart goes out to all of you. You're in my thoughts and in my prayers. Love, Sue
To Mara and her family, Rick and I are so very sorry to hear this terrible news. Just last Friday I was in Texas with Aunt Flo and Tanya had brought the digitized version of some old family movies . There were many that included Gene, especially at the beach. We laughed at how much fun we all had and how little we were. It doesn't seem right or fair that Gene was taken from you while still young, (and in my opinion, 62 is young). We will keep you in our prayers. Let us know if you need anything. Between Karen, Cindy, and I, we are keeping Aunt Flo informed. She is much too frail to travel right now. Fondly, Sheridan
Maura and Rob, I am so stunned at the news of Gene's passing. I so enjoyed coming to the restaurant and having Gene sit down and talk with me while there. I will miss him greatly. Please accept Becky and my condolences. Your family is in our prayers. Jim and Becky Kennedy
Brett and I are praying for you during your time of loss.
