Funeral services for Mr. Vernon L. Boswell, age 93, of the Allred Community of Overton County will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 18, 2018 from the chapel of the Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Benny Sells will officiate. Burial will be in the Falling Springs Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at the Livingston Funeral Home.
Mr. Boswell passed from this life on Monday morning, April 16, 2018 from the Overton County Health & Rehab. He was born in Overton County on July 31, 1924 to the late Lloyd & Mary Lou Bilbrey Boswell. Vernon worked in road construction for the state highway department for many years. Vernon loved his family and spending time with them. He enjoyed living off the land, farming, coon hunting and whittling. He enjoyed Bluegrass & Gospel Music.
Vernon leaves his daughters, Mary Frances Howell of Alpine, TN & Colene Ledbetter of Livingston, TN; sons, Levoid Boswell of Livingston, TN, Charles Boswell of Cookeville, TN & David Boswell & wife Pam of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Greg Ledbetter of Crossville, TN, Kim Stonecipher & husband Mitch of Rickman, TN, Tonia Duke & husband Jason of Livingston, TN, Tammy Castle of Livingston, TN, Joseph Boswell & wife Brittany of Cleveland, TN & Denton Boswell & wife Candice of Nashville, TN; 18 great grandchildren & 8 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Mattie Gunter and husband Tom of Indiana & Betty Estelle Turner of Livingston, TN; brother, Dwight Boswell and wife Wanda of Allred.
In addition to his parents, Vernon is preceded in death by his wife, Meekle Hester Boswell; son, W.L. Boswell; grandson, Robbie Ledbetter; brothers, Ward, James & Junior Boswell; sisters, Nilene Masters & Juanita Boswell.
Pallbearers to serve are Greg Ledbetter, Matt Ledbetter, Emery Duke, Carter Duke, Michael & Matthew Castel, Denton Boswell & Joe Boswell.
Honorary Pallbearer, Timmy Ledbetter.
