Speck Funeral Home- Kennie Thompson Obituary

Funeral Services for Mr. Kennie Thompson, age 69, of the Hardys Chapel Community, will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, March 3, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  Bro. Howard Dailey will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Shiloh Cemetery in Hardys Chapel.  The family will welcome friends on Sunday morning, March 3, 2024, from 11 a.m. until time of services.  

Mr. Kennie Thompson, passed from this life on Thursday morning, February 29, 2024, from the Overton County Health & Rehab.  He was born in Overton County, Tennessee on August 21, 1954, to the late Hubert Winton and Ophelia Bessie Collins Thompson.  Kennie was a Brick Mason with his late twin brother for many years, where they enjoyed building and designing many beautiful homes and entrances all over the Upper Cumberland.  He was a true family man who enjoyed being outside with his family.  His grandchildren were his greatest joy.  He also loved his nephew Ian Sullivan, niece Isla Sullivan, and his dog Precious.

Kennie leaves behind his son, Logan Thompson and wife Jennifer of Baxter, TN; grandchildren, Charlotte and Levi Thompson; sisters, Gladys Hooks and Brenda Sullivan and husband Bill all of Livingston, TN; brother, Ricky Thompson of Livingston, TN; aunt, Thelma Bowers of Gallatin, TN, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Kennie was preceded in death by his twin brother, Bennie Thompson, and his brothers, Ronnie, Joe, Winton, and Ray Thompson, sister, Virginia Dailey.

Pallbearers to serve are David Sullivan, Taylor Thomspon, Phillip Hooks, Richard Benjiman, Ja Benjiman, and Mark Thompson.
