Speck Funeral Home - Mellean Bilbrey

Funeral Services for Mrs. Oma Mellean Bilbrey, age 80, of Livingston will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, March 16, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Pastor Russ Scott will officiate. Burial to follow in the Hunter Cove Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of services.  

Mrs. Mellean passed from this life on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, from the Livingston Regional Medical Center.  She was born on June 20, 1943, to the late Willie and Elsie Swallows Looper in Monterey, Tennessee.  A 1961 graduate of Monterey High School, and a member of the Memorial Baptist Church in Livingston.  Mellean, enjoyed traveling, gardening, shopping, cooking, and going to church.  She was known by her family and friends as the peace maker and was good to everyone she came in contact with. She loved being with her family.

Mellean leaves behind her daughter, Angie Hite and husband Tim of Livingston, TN; grandchildren, Tristica Coleman and fiancé Travis Copeland of Cookeville, TN, Anton Coleman and wife Brittany of Murfreesboro, TN, Aria Beaty and husband Curtis of Hilham, TN, and McGuire Hite and wife Callie of Baxter, TN; great-grandchildren, Paxton, Grayson, Hallie Kate, Declan, Johanson, Daxon, Indi Ann, and Anna Kaye; sisters, Clarice Collier and husband Bill of Essexville, MI, Neda Davidson and husband Larry of Sidney, OH, and Johnnie Samons, of Kettering, OH; several nieces and nephew and one very best friend for 50 years, Barb Hunter.

In addition to her parents, Mellean was preceded in death by her brothers, L.J., Ralph, A.B. and Doyle Looper; sisters, Jeanette Murphy, Jewel Solinski, and Frances Thrasher.

Pallbearers to serve are Tim Hite, Anton Coleman, Curtis Beaty, Travis Copeland, McGuire Hite, and Charles Peek.
