Lawrence was born on May 16, 1958, in Oakland, California, Although James Tramel was his biological father, James Reider raised him as his own son and mother Norma Reider. He spent his career in healthcare, specializing in Quality Control Assurance—a role he approached with dedication and a deep love for his work and the people around him. Lawrence was known for his professionalism, steady presence, and genuine compassion.

Lawrence is survived by his siblings, Kathleen Noppe and her husband Doug, Daniel Reider, and Sabrina Reider Marquez and her husband Luis. He was a beloved cousin and uncle to his nieces and nephews: Sherell, D.J., Justin, Cory, Josh, and Emily.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Reider and Norma Reider, and his brother, Philip Tramel.
