Livingston Funeral Home - Albert Julian Obituary

Albert L. Julian of Monroe, TN passed from this earth on October 28, 2020 and gained his eternal reward.  Albert was born and lived in Tampa, FL, until 1995 and then moved to Tennessee.  He was a man of strong faith and lived a life of service & sacrifice for others.  He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years Donna Lae Jacob Julian of Monroe, TN; daughters, Cynthia Julian-Simmons & husband Mickey of Livingston, TN, and Patrece Julian of Marietta, GA; grandchildren, Jeremy Clayton, Savannah Clayton, and Sierra Clayton; and brother, Robert Lamar "Skip" Julian of Tampa, FL. In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Julian.
A natural born athlete, Albert spent most of his younger years playing baseball, basketball and was on the track team as a pole vaulter.  He later played golf, tennis, snooker and also excelled at bowling.  He worked at Continental Can Company for 25 years and later owned his own lawn maintenance business.  Not shying away from hard work, Albert was also known for roofing many homes in Florida for those in need – often without pay.  In TN, he was a salesperson for EZ tire repair products until retirement.

Albert was drafted into the Army and served from 1963 – 1965, spending most of that time as a soldier & radio operator in the early days of the Vietnam War.  He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for Acts of Valor, for risking his life to deliver ammunition by foot during an intense battle (when no one else dared).
Known for his friendly, cheerful demeanor, Albert’s faith in God was the foundation and reason for everything he did.  Whether you had known him for minutes or years, he shared his stories and was thrilled to get to know you.  During his retirement years, he continued to be active at Cullom church of Christ, cared for an elderly friend, and enjoyed spending time with his daughters, grandchildren and most especially with his beloved wife Donna.

After a stroke in 2018, Albert spent his last 2 years in the Overton County Health & Rehab Center.  The family would like to say a very special word of thanks for the loving, attentive care he received from the entire staff while there!

Graveside services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2020 at 2 p.m. from the Monroe Cemetery where mask and social distancing will be required.  The family will welcome friends from 1 p.m. until time of services at the Cemetery.
