In Loving Memory of Mrs. Bertha Nell Hawkins Stoner
January 25, 1940 – October 5, 2025

Funeral services for Mrs. Bertha Nell Hawkins Stoner, age 85, of Livingston, Tennessee, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Livingston Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Bill Downey officiating. Burial will follow at Overton County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday morning from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the Livingston Funeral Home Chapel.

Bertha passed peacefully from this life on Sunday evening, surrounded by the comforts of her home and the presence of her daughter Julie.

Born at home in Livingston, Tennessee, on January 25, 1940, Bertha was the daughter of the late Rhesa and Allie Ledbetter Hawkins. A proud graduate of Livingston Academy, Class of 1958, she dedicated many years of service to the United States Postal Service.

Bertha loved her family with a tremendous and selfless heart. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the pride of her life. She also treasured her weekly card games with dear friends and the fellowship of her church ladies’ group.

A passionate supporter of the Tennessee Lady Vols, Bertha eagerly anticipated basketball season each year. Above all, she loved Jesus and lived her life as a reflection of her faith.

Bertha is survived by:

Daughters: Julie Brown (husband Scott) and Jodi McDonald (partner Rick Roberts)

Grandchildren: Logan Thompson (wife Jennifer), Jacob Brown (wife Emily), and Allie Hogue (husband Kalum)

Great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Mollie, Henry, Levi, Asher, and Sawyer

Sister-in-law: Beverly Hawkins

Nephews: Benny Parson, Jonathan Hawkins

Niece: Jennifer Holland

Special cousins: Joan Upchurch and Dalphine Carmack

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Stoner, her parents, Rhesa and Allie Hawkins, sister Betty Parsons, and brothers Billy, Joe, and James Hawkins.
