Livingston Funeral Home - Bobby Rice Obituary

Masonic and Eastern Star Services for Mr. Bobby Lee Rice, age 83, of Hilham will be conducted 7 p.m., Thursday, June 24, 2021 from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.  The family will welcome friends on Thursday afternoon from 2 until 9 p.m. at the Livingston Funeral Home.  

Mr. Bobby Rice entered into the Celestial Lodge above on Saturday morning, June 19, 2021 from the comfort of his home.  He was born in Baxter, Tennessee on February 9, 1938 to the late Logan Mansfield and Alice Judd Rice.  Bobby moved north at a young age to work for General Motors.  He soon met the love of his life, Carolyn Brock, where they soon married and started their life as one.  Bobby was a 32nd Degree Mason for 50 years, and devoted much of his life to the lodge.  He was a member of the Livingston Masonic Lodge #259, Livingston Eastern Star #206, Gainesboro Eastern Star #503, Shriners Club, and Scottish Rite.  Bobby enjoyed rabbit hunting with his beagle dogs and also enjoyed fishing.  His hobby was CB Radios and took pride in collecting money for disabled children through the CB Radio Jamborees.  Bobby and his wife Carolyn enjoyed playing the role as Mr. and Mrs. Clause for many years, also for the Livingston Rotary Club Christmas Parade, by riding in the sleigh.  

Bobby leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 years, Mrs. Carolyn L. Brock Rice of Hilham, TN; sons, Bobby Joe Rice and wife Susan of Centerline, MI, and James Ray Rice and wife Sherry of Hilham, TN; daughter, Patty Lee Rice and fiance  Author Rose of Freeport Bahamas; grandsons, Jon Rice, Joshua Rice, Joey Rice, Randall Rice, Liam Adams and Robert Smith and wife Tiffany; granddaughters, Jerrica Rice, Rowan Adams and Melody Dayhuff; 7 great-grandsons, 5 great-granddaughters, and 1 great-great-grandson; brother, Lonny Rice and wife Carol of Baxter, TN; sisters, Oma Stidham and Wilma Rodgers both of Cookeville, TN; sister-in-law, Morina Rice of Gainesboro, TN; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary Rice, Grace Maynard, Versa Maxwell, Edna Williams, Deloris Massa, and Nancy Johnson; brothers, Lawrence, Houston, Arson, and Joe Rice.
