In Loving Memory of Mrs. Evelyn Phillips Crabtree
March 5, 1935 – May 19, 2025

Funeral services for Mrs. Evelyn Phillips Crabtree, age 90, of Livingston, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at the Livingston Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Derek Copeland officiating. Evelyn will be laid to rest at Overton County Memorial Gardens, beside her beloved family.

The family will welcome friends for visitation on Thursday morning, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Evelyn passed away peacefully in her sleep on the evening of Monday, May 19, 2025, at Livingston Regional Medical Center, surrounded in spirit by those who loved her dearly.

Born on March 5, 1935, in Overton County, Tennessee, Evelyn was the daughter of the late Basil and Bertie Speck Phillips. She was the heart of her family—always gentle, always loving, and always ready with a kind word, a warm hug, and something good on the stove.

Evelyn had a deep love for gardening, and her flower beds were a reflection of her—colorful, joyful, and full of life. She was known for her home-cooked meals that brought the whole family together, and her hands were rarely still, always busy creating beautiful things with her needle and thread. She especially loved going on little adventures with her best friend, Evelyn Howard, but nothing brought her more joy than spending time with her family, who she loved fiercely and without condition.

She leaves behind:

Her son, Randall Crabtree and his wife June Stewart of Livingston, TN

Her grandchildren: Michael Burchett of Livingston, TN and caregiver, Katie Norton and husband Nathaniel of Livingston, TN

Her precious great-granddaughter, Amelia Norton of Livingston, TN

Her dear brother, Basil Phillips, Jr. and wife Brenda of Monterey, TN

Her son-in-law, Kevin Burchett and wife Patricia, also of Livingston, TN

Evelyn is now reunited in Heaven with many loved ones who went before her, including:

Her beloved husband, Billy Crabtree

Her children: Ricky Crabtree, Ronnie Crabtree, and Glenda Burchett

Her granddaughter, Cassie Crabtree

Her siblings: Edith Bowman, Bertha Hite, J.B. Phillips, David Phillips, and Daniel Phillips

Pallbearers will be Michael Burchett, Nate Norton, and Chris Winningham.
Honorary pallbearers include Randall Crabtree, Kevin Burchett, Basil Phillips Jr, and David Michielsen.

Though our hearts are heavy, we take comfort in knowing Evelyn is now resting peacefully, likely tending to the most beautiful flower garden Heaven has ever seen. She will be missed every day—but her love, her laughter, and her legacy live on in all who were blessed to know her.
