Kenneth Wayne Shaver, age 67, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away from this life on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at his home in Cookeville. Funeral services for Mr. Kenneth Shaver will be conducted Saturday, January 4, 2025 at 11a.m. from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Burial to follow in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Bro. Justin Owens will officiate. Family will welcome friends from 8:30 a.m. until time of service. 

Ken was born on August 21, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Horace Lee Shaver and the late Margaret Ford Shaver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters: Wanda Lee McCoy, Wilma Faye Collins, and Juanita Marie Rowell; two nephews: Glen Edward McCoy and Eric John Raepsaet; and a longtime companion and friend, Connie Salazar.

Ken was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, where he served eight years as military police. He also worked for Project Mercury in Indian Springs, Nevada, for twenty-seven-and-a-half-years. His interests included arrowhead hunting, fishing, horse racing, and all sports. He loved life to the fullest and enjoyed being around people.

During his illness, we would like to give special thanks and recognition to his nurse Debbie Smith for her hard work in taking care of him. She became a dear friend and felt like a part of the family.

He is survived by his brother, Edgar Shaver, and his wife, Kathy Shaver; his three brothers-in-law, Jesse McCoy, Max Collins, and Phil Rowell; one special uncle, Haskell Qualls; one special aunt, Diana Shaver; and a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews. Ken will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul who found beauty in life's simple pleasures and generously gave of himself to others. He will live on in the hearts and memories of family and friends and will be greatly missed by all who knew him!
