Obituary for MaryDean Fossey

MaryDean Fossey, age 50, of Livingston, Tennessee, passed away peacefully at Livingston Regional Hospital on September 18th, 2025.

Born on June 2, 1975, in Livingston, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Helen Fossey. MaryDean was a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was known for her kind heart, her generosity, and the warmth she shared with everyone she met.

MaryDean dedicated many years to serving her community as the manager of a local Dollar General, where her friendly presence and caring attitude left a lasting impression on all who interacted with her. Her love for people extended beyond work—she was a devoted member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she found strength, support, and joy in her faith and fellowship.

Her greatest joy came from her family and friends, all of whom she held dear. MaryDean’s love for them was boundless, and she was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a listening ear. Whether spending time with loved ones or connecting with those in need, she made everyone feel special and cared for.

MaryDean is survived by her brother, Donald Fossey II and wife Vicki; her niece, Emily Fossey; her great-niece (but more like a granddaughter), Skylar Glass; her nephew, Paul Royce Williams; and her aunts, Debbie Hicks, Karen McCowan, and Pat Miller & husband Joe. She is also survived by her uncles, Gerald Maynard and wife Reba, and Eddie Maynard & wife Becky. and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Helen Fossey. Grandparents Yelton and AnnaDean Maynard Grandmother Ruby Kenny and Cousin Jeremiah Maynard.

A funeral service for MaryDean will be held on Saturday, September 27th, at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Bro. Steven Barlow will officiate. Burial will follow at Okolona Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, September 26th, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

MaryDean’s spirit will live on in the countless lives she touched, and she will be forever remembered for her love, compassion, and the light she brought to this world.
