Funeral Mass for Mrs. Nellie Louise DeSantis, age 95, of the Willow Grove Community will be conducted 11 a.m., Monday, October 23, 2023, from the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Cookeville. Father John Siby will officiate. Committal to follow in the St. John Cemetery. The family will welcome the reception on Sunday evening from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.
Mrs. DeSantis passed peacefully from this life on Monday evening, October 16, 2023, from the comfort of her home. She was born in Detroit Michigan on November 8, 1927, to the late Charles and Lettie Wolven Munch. Mrs. Nellie was the Librarian for many years at the Maple Grove Elementary School. She truly loved children, from her own grandchildren and great-grandchildren to the many children at Maple Grove School. She also enjoyed volunteer work at the VFW. Nellie looked forward to family gatherings on Sunday, and activities on Dale Hollow Lake.
Nellie leaves behind her sons, Charles DeSantis and husband Tony of Salt Lake City, UT, and Dino DeSantis of Nashville, TN; daughters, Rose Mary Yates and husband James of Shelby Township, MI, and Juli Garrison and husband Mark of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Jamie, Terry, Stacie, Michael, Roxy, Ryan, and Lewis; great-grandchildren, Isabella, River, Willow, Henry, Kaya, Cyrus, Madison, Piper, and Marlie.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert DeSantis; son, Robert F. DeSantis; brothers, Charles Munch, and William Munch; and sisters, Patricia Ruck, and Rose Mary Williams.
