Funeral Services for Mr. Royce Hummel age 85, of Allons, Tennessee will be conducted 2 p.m., Monday, October 2, 2023, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.  Bro. Rick Lewis and Bro. Timmy Ray will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Fellowship Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 9 p.m. at Livingston Funeral Home. 

Mr. Hummel passed from this life on Friday afternoon from the comforts of his home with his loving wife of 65 years by his side.  He was born at home in Clay County Tennessee to the late Johnny and Edith Ray Hummel.  Royce worked many years as a Deputy for the Overton County Sherriff's Department.  He was dedicated to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.  Royce loved to talk and laugh with anyone he came in contact with.  He worked as the caretaker of Fellowship Cemetery for many years.  Royce loved his family dearly and going fishing.

Royce leaves behind his wife Mable Sells Hummel of Allons, TN; sisters, Dean Simmons of Sparta, TN, Barbara Sells of Allons, TN, and Betty Melton of Anderson, IN; several nephews and nieces; and a very special sister-in-law, Betty Sells.

Royce was preceded in death by his parents. 

Pallbearers to serve are Benny Maxfield, Scotty Ray, Kenny Ray, Chris Hummel, and Shawn Sells.
