Livingston Funeral Home - Vada Colene Norrod

Funeral Services for Mrs. Vada Colene Hull Norrod, age 95, of Alpine, will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 9, 2023, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home.  Bro. John Copeland will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Grant Norrod Cemetery in Monroe.  The family will welcome friends Tuesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. then on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the Livingston Funeral Home.

Mrs. Vada passed away from the comfort of her residence at Life Care Assisted Living in Sparta on Sunday, August 6, 2023.  She was born in the Bethesadia Community of Overton County on August 3, 1928, to the late Ewing and Maudie Richardson Hull.  

Mrs. Vada is survived by sons, Gary Norrod and wife Victoria of Siler City, NC, and Mark Norrod and wife Pattie of Elkhart, IN; daughters, Phyllis Nix of Mobile, AL, and Sandy Shumate of Cookeville, TN; grandsons, Roman Norrod and wife Ami of Sunbury, OH, and Matthew Garrett and wife Ophelia of Ramsuar, NC; granddaughters, Rene McGovney and husband Ron of Marion, NC, Robin O'Brien and husband Chris of Parsberg Germany and Summer Garrett of Mobile, AL; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; sisters, Louella Ledford of Livingston, TN and Betty Choate and husband Austin of Alpine, TN; brother, Kelly Hull and wife Betty of Allons, TN; also several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Vada was preceded in death by her husband Marvin Norrod; baby son, and a baby daughter; brothers, Hubert, Hebert, Emerson, Leck, John and Jim Hull; sisters, Emmazelle Smith and Lexie Booher.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Roman Norrod, Matthew Garrett, Danny Norrod, Larry Hull, Steve Choate, Richard Hull and Ron McGovney.
