Speck Funeral Home - Bernard Lynn Fields

Funeral services for Mr. Bernard Lynn Fields, age 93, of Cookeville, will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, April 8, 2023, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  Bro. Don Parker will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Fellowship Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 12 noon until time of services.  

Bernard passed from this life on Monday evening, April 3, 2023, from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.  He was born in Baxter, Tennessee on April 8, 1929, to the late Ola and Elizabeth Watts Fields.  He worked for many years for the Lockhead-Martin Aircraft Manufacturing Company.  He enjoyed gardening, fishing and horseback riding.  He also was known for training and breaking mules.  A true outdoorsman, he loved his family especially his grandchildren.

Bernard leaves behind his daughters, Tracy Parker and husband Don and Vicki Paris all of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Emily Minor and husband Chris, Tonya Haase, Alicia Cartrette and husband Josh, Scott Parker, Colby Fields, and Dylan Fields; 10 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; sisters, Sylvia Jared of Cookeville, TN, and Kay Anderson of Baxter, TN; daughter-in-law, Mitzi Fields of McDonough, GA.

In addition to his parents, Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Lula Belle Boykin Fields; son, Terry Fields; son-in-law Robert Lewis Paris; sisters, Pat Chaffin, Wilma Evans, and Melva Lewis; and brother, Willard Fields.
