Funeral Services for Mrs. Betty Dimple Abston, age 84 of Livingston, will be conducted 2 PM Thursday, September 9th, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Greg Jenkins will officiate. Burial will be in the Mayland Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 PM at Speck Funeral Home.
Betty passed from this life on Friday evening, September 3, 2021, from St. Thomas West in Nashville. She was born in Overton County on September 15, 1936, to the late Haskell and Daisy Hill Stephens. Betty loved spending time with her family, raising plants and flowers, and watching westerns. She loved spending time playing the guitar and talking on the phone to her kids and grandkids.
Mrs. Abston leaves behind her daughters Janice Hargis of Monterey, Jan Smith and husband Mike of Cookeville, Donna Brown of Sparta, Debbie Stults of Crawford, Dana McDonald and husband Jeff of Livingston, and Delana Stamps of Monterey; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Abston was preceded in death by her husband J.L. "Jaybird" Abston, brother Bobby Stephens, and grandsons Anthony Winningham and Joshua Smith.
Pallbearers to serve are Ryan McDonald, Ben Stults, Matthew Howard, Jacob Stamps, Ethan Stamps, Jaylon McDonald, Levi Stamps, and Logan Stamps.
