Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Speck, age 91, of Cookeville will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 11th, 2026, from the chapel of Speck funeral Home. Her son, Mike Speck, will officiate. Burial will follow in the Copeland Cemetery at West Fork. The family will welcome friends on Saturday morning from 9: a.m. until time of service at Speck Funeral Home. Pallbearers honored to serve Mrs. Betty include Jeremy Eicke, Jacob Robbins, Matt VanNus, Brian Copeland, Amon Speck, and David Copeland.

Betty passed from this life on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from the Covenant Health LeConte Hospital in Sevierville TN. She was born on November 11, 1934, in Overton County TN to the late Joe Copeland and Mazie Vaughn Copeland. She was a faithful member of the Stevens Street Baptist Church in Cookeville TN and loved to sing in the choir. She loved working full time at the Averitt Express Corporate Headquarters in the Safety Department as a Compliance Specialist until her recent illness. Her greatest joy was her family and serving, sharing, and praising the Lord Jesus Christ.

Betty leaves behind her sons, Mike Speck and wife Faye of Sevierville TN, and Mark Speck and wife Cheryl of Allen, TX; grandchildren, Melody VanNus and husband Matt, Kendal Eicke and husband Jeremy, Hayley Robbins and husband Jacob, and Amon Speck; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers Steve Copeland of Cookeville, TN, Kent Copeland of Cleveland, TN, and David Copeland of Knoxville, TN, along with sister Ann Pangle of Cookeville, TN. She also leaves behind several beloved nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Victor Odus Speck, her parents Joe Copeland and Mazie Vaughn Copeland, and her sister Donna Jean Copeland.
