Betty Jo, a loving sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 20, 2025, at the Overton County Health and Rehab. She was born on October 16, 1945, in Jamestown, Tennessee, to the late Porter C. Roysden and Bertha Lee Watson Roysden. Though she faced many challenges in life, Betty Jo's spirit remained resilient and bright.

At a young age, Betty Jo tragically lost her sight due to a fall, a hardship she faced with incredible courage and grace. She spent many years at the Donaldson School for the Blind, where she developed a lifelong love for stories and books, always cherishing the joy of others reading to her. Her love for people and her community was evident in her active involvement with the Livingston Seventh Day Adventist Fellowship, where she was a beloved member who enjoyed connecting with those around her.

Betty Jo is survived by her niece, Carol Anderson, and nephew, Mike Atkins, along with many cherished friends who became like family, including Jack and Reda Ezell and Edie Mabe. Betty Jo's presence in their lives was a blessing, and her warm, loving heart will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Avo Waudean Roysden, Charles Imel Roysden, Arvel Lee Roysden, Henry Ford Roysden, Linda Sue Roysden, her ex husband, Wayne Hinton, and her dear friend, Eugene McDonald.

Betty Jo's life was a testament to resilience, love, and unwavering faith. Her legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched with kindness and her unwavering belief in the power of love and connection. The family deeply appreciates the love, prayers, and support extended to them during this difficult time.

We invite all who knew and loved Betty Jo to come together in celebration of her life and to carry forward her memory in our hearts.
