Graveside Services for Mrs. Blondell Franklin Speck, age 89, of Cookeville and formerly of Rickman will be conducted 1 p.m., Monday, November 15, 2021 from the Netherland Cemetery. Bro. Mark Loftis will officiate. The family will welcome friends at the graveside.
Mrs. Blondell passed peacefully from this life on Thursday evening, November 11, 2021 from the Overton County Health and Rehab. She was born in Hilham, Tennessee on November 8, 1932 to the late Dawson and Zuia Ellen Horner Franklin. Blondell married the love of her life, Charles Ray Speck, shortly after WWII and started her family. She loved flowers of all kinds especially cannas and peonies. Blondell took joy in keeping her yard looking like it was on the cover of a Southern Living Magazine. She loved her family, animals of all kinds, and being outdoors.
Blondell leaves behind her daughter, Gail Speck and husband Sam Bailey of the Spring Creek Community; son, Ray L. Speck and his wife Betty of Cookeville, TN; grandchildren, Jeff Poston of Cookeville, TN, Tony Speck and wife Deanna of Cookeville, TN, and Michelle Savage and husband Jared of Sparta, TN; great-grandchildren, Braxton Speck, Paige Savage, and Carter Ray Speck; several nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
In addition to her parents, Blondell was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Speck; sisters, Sylvia Zambardi, Judy Scott, Melba "Pat" Mobley, and just recently her sister Estelle Hasting; brothers, Arvil, Sammy, and Earl Franklin.
Pallbearers to serve are Jeff Poston, Braxton Speck, Jared Savage, and Sam Bailey.
