Speck Funeral Home - Bobbie Jean Goodpasture Obituary

Funeral Services for Mrs. Bobbie Jean Goodpasture, age 89, of Livingston will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2023, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  Rev. Jason Robertson will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Good Hope Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Wednesday from 12 noon until time of service.

Mrs. Bobbie passed peacefully from this life on Monday morning, January 30, 2023, from the Livingston Regional Medical Center.  Mrs. Bobbie Jean McCormick Sullivan Goodpasture was born in Livingston, Tennessee on September 1, 1933, into hard times along with a large family including 10 aunts and uncles to Lee McCormick and 9 aunts and uncles of Myrtle Brown McCormick.  The oldest of 3 children including sister, Anna McCormick and brother, Edward Lee McCormick.

She was a 1953 graduate of Livingston Academy and loved sharing monthly meals with several of her classmates.  She also loved the Livingston Academy Alumni gathering and looked forward to them each year.  She also formed a widow's eating group. Bobbie began her career working at the local Shirt Factory, then Cumberland Manufacturing and briefly at Jenkins & Darwin's Department Store.  Bobbie began her own in-home business sewing purses, handbags and other items.  She managed the Meals on Wheels program for 19 years here in Overton County through the First Methodist Church.  This was a real passion of hers.  She loved working with people all over the county and driving to see new and different areas of the county.  After her second husband Clyde died, if services were not being held at First Baptist, Bobbie would be on the road for Jesus attending wherever a revival or gospel meeting was being held in the area.  She loved and was also a member of the American Legion.

Bobbie loved Livingston, her family, all Church related activities; game playing, working to make Operation Christmas items, and seeing what was going on in Livingston.  Bobbie's main love was First Baptist Church followed by playing cards, working puzzles, going to the Dixie, or the Dance.  Through it all, her love of the Lord, his Church, and her Church Family has never changed. Even when she could no longer sew, she hung out with the ladies that did.  When she could no longer hear in her class, she moved to Greg Arnold's class "Greg's easy to hear she would say".  Bobbie had her appointed hour to meet with the Lord and she arrived just a little over 30 minutes early.

Bobbie leaves behind her daughter, Diann Sullivan Evans and husband Jim of Livingston, TN; as well as her brother, Edward Lee McCormick and wife JoAnn of Huntsville, AL. and sister-in-law, Shirley McCormick of Huntsville, AL.  In addition to her parents Bobbie was preceded in death by her first husband Grady Paul Sullivan in 1961, and her second husband Clyde Martin Goodpasture in 1982. and one sister, Anna McCormick in 1993.
