Funeral Services for Mr. Bobby G. Smith, Sr., age 86, of Livingston, Tennessee will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, May 12, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Pastor Zach Gantt and Pastor Tommy Duncan will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Hatcher Hall Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Sunday from 12 noon until time of services at 2 p.m.

Mr. Smith passed from this life on Wednesday morning, May 8, 2024, from the comfort of his home. He was born in Overton County, Tennessee on May 12, 1937, to the late Baslie and Mattie Taylor Smith. Bobby was an avid fan of NASCAR especial Martin Truex and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He enjoyed his fur babies. Bobby loved when the Smith family would have a cookout, and just spending time with all of his family. He loved his family dearly. 

Bobby leaves behind his wife of 24 years Irene Smith of Livingston, TN; daughters Elizabeth Conner (Lonnie) of Monroe, TN, Connie Scantland (Ronnie) of Grimsley, TN, Melanie (Matthew) Crabtree of Jamestown, TN, and Renee Whitley of Massena, NY; son Jeff Staggs of Livingston, TN; grandchildren Melody Lancaster (David) of Livingston, TN, Cynthia Addison of Knoxville, TN, Clyde Smith of Livingston, TN, Amanda Smith of Monterey, TN, Samantha Smith of Monterey, TN, Joseph Smith of Monterey, TN, Daniel Scantland of Livingston, TN, Westley Scantland od Livingston, TN, Justin Scantland of Livingston, TN, Travis Staggs (Amelia) of Livingston, TN Dannie Wayne Staggs (Casey) of Hilham, TN, Heather Staggs, of Cookeville, TN, John Luke Staggs of Livingston, TN, and Matthew Cody Presley Livingston, TN; Special niece and nephew Cathy G. Smith and Bruce Smith; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Bobby was preceded in death by sons Bobby Smith, Jr., and Chris Copeland; daughter Teresa Abbott; brother Detro Smith; and sisters Susie Bryson, Mary Roop, Elsie Carter, Virginia Ford, and Bertha Conner.
