Private Graveside Services for Mr. Boyd Lee Smith, age 80, of Allons, Tennessee will be held at a later date.  

Mr. Boyd Smith passed from this life on Saturday, May 11, 2024, from the Overton County Health & Rehab.  He was born in Gainesboro, Tennessee on December 30, 1943, to the late Gerstle and Mildred Bennett Smith.   Boyd was a 1962 graduate of Jackson County High School and a member of the Livingston Church of Christ.  He met the love of his life Mrs. Betty Odell Peterman on the Overton County square in 1963 and married her soon after.  They would spend the next 60 years building their legacy.  Boyd sold Insurance to many families in the Upper Cumberland Area for many years.  He enjoyed fishing, the Vols, and the Cincinnati Reds.  His favorite enjoyment was keeping his yard well-manicured. 

Boyd leaves behind his loving wife, Betty Smith of Allons, TN; son, Jeffery Lee Smith and wife Lessia of Allons, TN; grandchildren, Jacob Lee Smith of Allons, TN, and Drew Bouldin and husband Matthew of Rock Island, TN.

In addition to his parents, Boyd was preceded in death by his son, Gregory Lynn Smith, and brother-in-law, Bruce Peterman.
