Brad was born on February 3, 1959 in Livingston, TN to the late Johnny Carr and Jewell Ledbetter. Brad was a man whose greatest joys were found in the simple, steady rhythms of a life well-lived. He enjoyed spending quiet mornings deer hunting and casting a line into the pond near his home—places that brought him peace and a deep connection to the world around him. In his younger years, Brad was exceptionally athletic. That love of sports never faded; he was a devoted supporter of the Tennessee Vols, cheering proudly through football, baseball, and softball seasons with unwavering enthusiasm. Brad’s craftsmanship was one of his greatest sources of pride. As a tile setter, he worked with a precision and dedication that often left people in awe. He loved sharing photos of his projects, each one a reflection of his perfectionism, patience, and genuine passion for his trade and was a long time butcher. Another of Brad’s greatest joys was golf. He cherished his time on the course with his golfing group, “Hit ’em and Hunt ’em.” What began as a group of men gathering for a game soon transformed into something much deeper—these were the friends who became family, sharing countless laughs, stories, and unforgettable days together. At the heart of Brad’s life was his wife, his truest companion and the best friend he ever had. Their bond was marked by love, laughter, and a playful exchange that became theirs alone: she would say, “You’re my best friend, Brad Brad,” and he would answer, as he always did, “You’re my best friend, Goofy.” Their devotion to one another was simple, sincere, and beautifully unwavering. Brad lived a life built on friendship, family, love, and the quiet joys that meant the most to him. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his pride in his work, his love for the outdoors, and the deep, genuine connections he made with the people around him. Most of all, he will be remembered for the love he gave—and the love he leaves behind.
Brad is survived by his wife Kaye Carr of Rickman, TN; step-daughter Nina Endsley and fiancé Shane Sampson of Cornersville, TN; grandchildren Gracyn Endsley, Oaklyn Sampson, Declan Sampson, and Braylon Sampson; siblings Beverly Thompson and husband Wayne, Bruce Qualls and wife Lynn, Bill Burks, Jack Fusion, and Cindy Lee; special nephew and niece Johnny Thompson and Leigh Madewell; fur babies Mocha and Mollie; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Brad is preceded in death by his grandparents Bessie Garrett Ledbetter and Bradley Carr, and sister Shelia Melton.
