Mr. Bruce Ernest Smith, age 69, of Livingston, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, February 15, 2025, at Livingston Regional Hospital. His departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family and all who knew him.

Born on November 12, 1955, in Livingston, Tennessee, Bruce was the son of the late Clifford and Kay Brown Smith. He spent his life in the community he loved, and his heart was firmly rooted in his family and home. Bruce had a passion for sports, particularly basketball, which he enjoyed watching with great enthusiasm. A true homebody at heart, he found peace in simple pleasures like bank fishing and antique shopping, where he could unwind and savor the quiet moments of life. Above all, Bruce loved his family dearly, and his devotion to them was unwavering.

Bruce leaves behind his beloved wife of 45 years, Beverly Smith; his daughter, Brittnye Hornaday and husband, John; and his brother, Bryant Smith, all of Livingston, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Kay Smith. Bruce’s legacy will live on in the memories of his family, who will forever treasure the love and warmth he shared with them.

Funeral services for Mr. Bruce Smith will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather from 9:30 AM until the time of the service. Bro. John Mickey Murphy will officiate the service, and burial will follow at Philander-Smith Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to assist with funeral expenses.

Bruce will be deeply missed, but his love, kindness, and joy for life will never be forgotten.
