Speck Funeral Home - Carolyn Sells Obituary

Funeral services for Ms. Rebecca Carolyn "Nana" Sells, age 71 of Livingston, will be conducted from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston at 2 PM on Thursday, April 22nd.  Rev. James Shenko and Rev. Sunny Ridings will be the officiants.  Burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.  The family will welcome friends on Wednesday from 5 until 9 PM and Thursday from 12 noon until 2pm at Speck Funeral Home.

Known to most of us as Nana, Carolyn Sells was born on May 11, 1949, in Livingston, TN, to Bill and Mamie (Templeton) Ringley.  Nana was a supportive mom, hard worker, and a cheerleader to all.  She loved fiercely and thought highly of everyone who crossed her path.  She was a 1967 graduate of Livingston Academy and a member of the First Christian Church in Livingston.  Nana's heart was as big as her hugs.  For over 70 years, she lived loudly and fully.  Her smile filled our hearts and her desserts filled our souls.  There is no one else we would rather have watching over us and cheering us on.  Nana gave us her all in everything we pursued.  She's cleaned homes, raised babies, and cheered on every sport's team.  She was everyone's Nana, not just ours.

Carolyn raised five daughters and one grandson.  She is survived by her daughters Billie Holman of Livingston, Cynthia and husband David Sells of Livingston, Belinda and husband Steve Rector of Eagle River, AK, Melissa Cook of Zeeland, MI, and Marla Sells of Livingston.

Also her most beloved seven grandchildren Taylor and wife Lisa Rector of McGregor, TX, Courtney Sells of Nashville, Michael Sells of Cookeville TN, Devin Cook of Grand Rapids, MI, Logan and Meghan Rector of Eagle River, AK, Kaden Cook of Zeeland, MI, and a beloved great granddaughter, Paisley Rector of McGregor, TX.

Other survivors include brother James and wife Juanita Ringley, sisters Vella Dickerson, Oleda and husband Danny Clark, and Jean and husband Loyd Cunningham - all of Livingston - one sister-in-law Kathy Ringley of Green Castle, IN, friends Tim and Lisa Mountain and family and Margaret Collins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bobby Joe Holman, and brother J.D. Ringley.

Pallbearers to serve are Taylor Rector, Courtney Sells, Devin Cook, Michael Sells, Logan Rector, Meghan Rector, Kaden Cook, Tim Mountain, and Lance Mountain.

Honorary pallbearers to serve are Dr. John Clough and the entire staff at Priority Care Medical Center, James Ringley, Danny Clark, Loyd Cunningham, and Aaron Threet.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to Quality Hospice in Jamestown, TN, to help those in need with hospice care costs by contacting Speck Funeral Home.
