Mr. Carson Douglas Oliver, age 82, of Livingston, passed away from the comforts of his home on March 13, 2025. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, March 16 at 3 p.m. from the First Christian Church, and burial will follow at Good Hope Cemetery. Rev. James Shenko will officiate.  The family will welcome friends on Sunday, March 16, 2025, from 1 p.m. until the time of service.

Carson Oliver was born in Sparta, TN, on February 13, 1943, to the late Leo and Evalena Snodgrass Oliver. With a distinguished career spanning 69 years in the news and printing industry, he made an indelible mark on the community. For 39 years, he owned and operated the esteemed Overton County News newspaper, earning numerous accolades for its excellence. 
Carson cherished the beauty of Dale Hollow Lake while spending time with friends and family. He loved capturing the essence of the community through the news and was a pillar of Overton County, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, service, and inspiration.

Mr. Oliver is survived by his daughter, Kyra Marlene Oliver of Atlanta, GA, son Plas Darren Oliver and wife Pat of Livingston, TN; grandchildren Adam Douglas Oliver and wife Montana, and Evan Taylor Oliver; great-granddaughter Eden Raine Oliver; nieces and nephews Morgan Lachelle Walters, Kasey Teague Walters, Michael West, Lucas Oliver, and Jordan Oliver.

In addition to his parents, Carson was preceded in death by his wife, Vicki Mai Oliver; son Gregory Douglas Oliver; grandson Oliver Hayes Hitzeman; and sisters Sue Bilbrey and Brenda Oliver.

Pallbearers will be Danny Walters, Frank Walters, Jim Evans, Dewain Peek, Evan Oliver, Adam Oliver, Eliza Clark, Martha Clark.
