Funeral services for Mr. Donald Ernest Ledbetter, age 70, of Livingston will be conducted 12 noon, Friday, October 11, 2024, from the Oak Hill Church. Bro. Derek Parsons will officiate. Burial to follow in the Highland Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Thursday evening from 5 until 9 p.m., then on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the Oak Hill Church.
Mr. Donald Ledbetter passed from this life on Tuesday night, October 8, 2024, from the Overton County Health and Rehab Center in Livingston, with his loving family by his side. He was born in Anderson, IN on March 12, 1954, to the late Dennis Glenmore and Velma Walker Ledbetter. Donald was a lifelong member and former deacon of the Highland Baptist Church. Donald loved nothing more than family gatherings and singings at the church. Donald was known to everyone, in and out of his family, as the instigator at all family gatherings and social events. He would put a smile on your face and create laughter in any situation. Donald was a true family man and was a member of one of the largest families anywhere. His greatest time was spent traveling with his grandchildren at any outside or sporting events there was. He also had his work family of 46 years in road construction. Donald truly loved the Lord and could quote many scriptures from reading his Bible daily. He also enjoyed traveling with his late wife and golfing. Donald enjoyed singing with his family. He sang many times for many of his friends and loved ones who passed before him.
Donald leaves behind his son, David Ledbetter and wife Lisa of Livingston, TN; daughters, Christi Ledbetter of Cookeville, TN, and Mary Frances Young and husband Adam of Sparta, TN; grandchildren, Madelyn Kirby and fiancé Keith Wachter, Mallary Kirby, Maggie Kirby, Hayden Ledbetter and fiancé Abby Vaughn, Dawson Ledbetter, Halle Ledbetter and fiancé Connor Gundlach, Raven Carpenter, Destiny Young, Avery Young, and Sadie Young; sisters, Ellen Kennedy of Rickman, TN, Nina Crabtree of Livingston, TN, Mildred Melton of the Independence Community, and Anita Ledbetter of Livingston, TN; brothers, Buddy Ledbetter and wife Susan of Livingston, TN, and Gary W. Ledbetter and wife Dianne of the Highland Mountain Community; brother-in-law, Tommy Rooker and wife Billie of Livingston, TN; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to his parents, Glenmore and Velma Walker Ledbetter, Donald was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Mrs. Peggy Ann Rooker Ledbetter, brother, Freeman Dale Ledbetter, sister, Brenda Faye McDonald, nephews, Jeff Kennedy and Scott McDonald, brothers-in-law, Charles Kennedy, Max Crabtree, and Roy Hugh Melton, sister-in-law, Gloria Ellefsen and husband Jimmy, and father and mother-in-law, Bryan and Polly Rooker.
Pallbearers to serve are Hayden Ledbetter, Dawson Ledbetter, Raven Carpenter, Matthew Rooker, Bryan Rooker, Greg McDonald, Jeremy McDonald, Ryan Ledbetter, Chris Ledbetter, Alex Ledbetter, Steve Kennedy, Brian Crabtree, Michael Melton, Richard Melton, Ryan Ellefsen, Chris Ellefsen, Andy Ellefsen, and Eli Ellefsen.
