Mr. Donnie Wayne Qualls, age 59, of Monroe, TN, passed away at home on January 1, 2025. His family and friends will gather to celebrate his life during funeral services on Monday, January 6, 2025, at 1 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home in Livingston, TN, with Bro. David Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Sylvester Robbins Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and again on Monday, January 6, from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Born on October 11, 1965, in Livingston, TN, Donnie was the beloved son of the late Jerrell and Lynda Smith Henley Qualls. A talented athlete, Donnie proudly played for the Pickett County High School basketball team from 1980 to 1984. He later became a skilled certified welder and HVAC technician, owning and operating Qualls Heating and Cooling for many years, serving families throughout the Upper Cumberland.

Beyond his professional life, Donnie had a wide array of passions. He enjoyed collecting firearms, shooting competitively, and particularly took pleasure in finding and collecting unique old items, especially knives with fascinating histories. In his later years, Donnie found joy in caring for his chickens, hunting for treasures at yard sales, and, above all, bringing laughter and warmth to those around him. His love for his family was deep, and his sparkling blue eyes will forever be remembered by those who knew him.

Donnie is survived by his daughters, Paige Wright and her husband Jon of Sparta, TN, and Elizabeth Collier and her husband Marc of Alpine, TN; his cherished grandchildren, Blakelynn Wright, Greyson Wright, Elliott Wright, Jon-Henry Wright, and Remy Collier; his loving sister, Cynthia Prestwood and her husband Marty of Shelbyville, TN; his nephews, Cody Prestwood and Cory Prestwood; great-nephews, Coby Prestwood and Connor Prestwood; his aunts and uncles, Doyle and Emogene Smith, Dewayne and Polly Smith, and Dale Smith; his cousins, Sharon Smith and Elainia Morgan and her husband Kelly; and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerrell and Lynda Qualls, and his grandparents, Detro and Nell Smith, and Wilmouth “Bill” and Edith Qualls.

Donnie’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.
