Speck Funeral Home - Dottie Gallagher

Private Graveside Services for Mrs. Doris "Dottie" Carol Dean Gallagher, age 91, of Bloomington, Minnesota and formerly of Overton County will be conducted Saturday, November 11, 2023.

Mrs. Dottie passed from this life on October 25, 2023, from her home in Friendship Village of Bloomington, Minnesota with her family by her side.  She was born in Twinton, Tennessee, on February 6, 1932, to the late Lena Breeding Dean and A.L. "Judge" Dean.  Dottie was a 1950 graduated from Livingston Academy and a 1954 graduate of Tennessee Tech in Cookeville Tennessee.  She then moved to Oak Ridge, Tennessee where she met her husband, Tom Lewis Gallagher.  After leaving Oak Ridge, Dottie and Tom lived in Lynchburg, Virginia, St. Louis, Missouri and Manhattan, Kansas.  Dottie stayed busy taking care of their home and four children.  She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, artistic endeavors, and volunteering and preparing delicious meals.  Dottie was an active member of the Church of Christ throughout her life.  As a widow, Dottie moved back to Cookeville, Tennessee.  She spent her final years in the care of her children and grandchildren.  

Dottie leaves behind her children, Barbara Gallagher Goodwin, Steve Gallagher, Mark Gallagher, Susan Gallagher Pitts; four grandchildren, Dan Goodwin, Audrey Goodwin, Amy, Glenn Gallagher and Lindsey Gallagher Cox; as well as beloved great-grandchildren, in-laws, and extended family.  

In addition to her parents, Dottie was preceded in death by her husband, brother, Don Dean, and granddaughter, Aundria Radcliff Padgett.
