Edna Collene Davey Daniels passed away peacefully in her home on Monday evening, July 24, 2023. She was born on a frigid day in Kelso, Washington, on February 27, 1930, to Pearl Clark Davey and Robert Ellis Davey, both deceased. Edna's younger sister Jean Elizabeth Davey Krantz and brother-in-law Verlon Boyce Krantz also went on before her. The sisters were very close, sharing a love for all God's creatures, dickering on shopping trips, and finding bargains at yard sales. Edna is also pre-deceased by her first husband, 1st Lt. Thomas Hamilton Opsomer, killed in service to our country.
Cleston B. Daniels, her husband of over 50 years survives her, as do her step-children Mark (Luisa) Daniels of Crossville, Michael (Heather Martin) Daniels of Cookeville, and Aurora (Chris McKee) Daniels of Madison. Edna was also grandma to Shauz, Quinn, Liam, and Adalynn.
A member of Livingston Methodist Church, Edna loved participating in Sunday School and singing during services. Graduating from General Hospital as an RN in 1954, she was a natural caregiver. With Cleston, Edna often enjoyed RV traveling and antique shopping.
The family wishes to thank Angie Weaver and Gloria Felknor for the love, dedication, and care provided to Edna. Without their support, we could not have kept her home with her three beloved cats: Sarah, Katie, and Cali. The family additionally wishes to thank the staff at Livingston Regional Hospital and Gentiva Hospice.
Always the picture of grace and charm, Edna will be missed by those who loved and knew her. We are grateful she rests now with the Lord and pray the time comes when we see her again.
Pallbearers to serve are Mark Daniels, Mike Daniels, Chris McKee, Taylor Felkner, Shauz Daniels, and Quinn Daniels.
