Services honoring Mrs. Elaine Phillips Pennington, age 84, of Livingston, TN will be conducted Tuesday, May 7th at 11am at Speck Funeral Home. Bro. David Lipe will officiate. The family will welcome friends on Monday, May 6th from 5-8pm. 

Elaine was born August 18th, 1939 to Ethan Van Buren Phillips and Delia Mae Eubanks Phillips and passed from this life on May 4th, 2024. She graduated from Livingston Academy in 1957 and was a lifelong resident of Overton County, as well as a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. She had a passion for bible history and genealogy. 

Elaine enjoyed reading, cooking, and collecting antiques, but most of all, she loved spending time with her family. She had an extraordinary gift of making all the holidays extra special for her children and grandchildren. 

Elaine is survived by her loving husband of 67 years, Roy Duel Pennington; Daughter Donna Elaine England and husband Robert of Livingston, TN; Son Phillip Duel Pennington and wife Mindy of Livingston, TN; Daughter LeeAnn Massengille and husband James of Cookeville, TN; Grandchildren Emily Paige England, Ethan Walt England, Jacob Duel Pennington and wife Hannah, James Matthew Massengille and wife Katelyn, John Clay Massengille, Jack Thomas Massengille, and great-grandson Jasper Duel Pennington. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ethan and Delia Phillips, as well as her brother Dr. James E. Phillips. 

Pallbearers to serve are Joe Pigg, Jacob Duel Pennington, James Matthew Massengille, John Clay Massengille, Jack Thomas Massengille, Ethan Walt England, and Emily Paige England.

The family requests any donations in her honor be made to The Overton County Historical Society, The Overton County Archives or The Overton County Heritage Museum.
