With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mrs. Elise Taylor, age 91, of Livingston, TN, who peacefully passed away on Wednesday morning, January 1, 2025, at Livingston Regional Hospital.

Elise was born on March 18, 1933, in Overton County to the late Martin and Flora Rector. She was a loving wife, mother, aunt, and friend, known for her deep love of family and her nurturing spirit. Elsie took great joy in the simple things—whether it was tending to her beautiful garden, creating floral arrangements that brightened the homes of loved ones, canning vegetables, or crocheting thoughtful gifts for family and friends. Her hands were always busy, but her heart was always open.

Elise was deeply loved by her husband, Raymond Taylor, and her step-daughter, Marilyn Taylor, both of whom she treasured. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories for her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Elise was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her sisters, Auda Breeding, Lizzie Bilbrey, and Opal Brady, and her brothers, Buford Rector, Wiley Rector, Arthur Rector, and Junior Rector. Her family and friends take comfort in knowing she is reunited with those she loved so dearly.

A service to celebrate her life will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Speck Funeral Home, with Bro. Bud Hargis and Bro. Eugene McCowan officiating. Burial will follow at Allens Chapels Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to visit on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Sunday from 10:00 AM until the service.

Elise’s pallbearers will include Adam Bilbrey, Casey Reagan, Terry Smith, Tommy Berry, Clayton Berry, Tom Berry, and Timmy Rector.

While we will miss Elise’s loving presence, we take solace in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the love she shared with all of us.
