She was born on February 11, 1954, in Sonora, Texas, to the late Felipe and Ofelia Castillo Rodriguez.

Esther leaves behind her son Gavan Rodriguez and wife Amanda of Livingston; grandchildren Brody and Brantley Rodriguez; sisters Mandy Almaguer and husband Eddie of San Angelo, Texas, Belia Vina of San Antonio, Texas, Rosa Calzada of San Antonio, Texas, Ermalinda Franklin and Julian of San Antonio, Texas, and Connie Garcia of San Antonio, Texas; and brothers Felipe Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Ophelia of Abilene, Texas, Alcario Rodriguez and wife Maria of San Antonio, Texas, Fernando Rodriguez and wife Lydia of San Antonio, Texas, Henry Rodriguez and wife Lusia of Abilene, Texas, David Rodriguez and wife Paula of Abilene, Texas, and Luis Rodriguez and wife Rosa of Brown Woods, Texas.

In addition to his parents, Mrs. Collins was preceded in death by her husband Michael Collins and brothers Jose Rodriguez and Jesse Rodriguez.
