Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Evelyn Rice Heard, age 89, of Rickman will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, July 27, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  Bro. Richard Farley will officiate.  The family will welcome friends from 11 a.m. until time of services.

Mrs. Evelyn passed from this life on Thursday evening, July 25, 2024, from the comforts of her home in Rickman.  She was born in Goodlettsville, Tennessee on July 22, 1935, to the late William Logan and Mary Dell Steele Rice.  She worked for many years in the Garment manufacturing Industry.  She loved working out in her yard in her flowers, garden, and making homemade apple pies from her apple trees.  She also made beautiful works of art with her needle and thread.  She was well known for making personal birthday cards for her friends and family.

Evelyn leaves behind her loving and devoted daughter, Sandy Butler and husband James of Rickman, TN; grandchildren, Samantha Dingwall and husband Chris of Hubert, NC, Joshua Savage and wife Tiffany of Cookeville, TN, Martha Sipe and husband Tim of Allons, TN, William Langford and wife Jennifer of Livingston, TN, and Brad Butler and wife Kelly of Cookeville, TN; great-grandchildren, Kael, Grant, Lucas,  and Alivia Dingwall, Baylen, and Caleb Savage, Christine and Zack Ogletree, Hayden and Haylee Butler, Pearl Sipe, Rebecca Hammons, and Jadyn Stang; and brother, Harvey Rice of Manchester, TN

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Alpheaus Heard; sisters, Gladys Smith and Louise Ruddick; brothers, William, Walter, and Andrew Rice
