Speck Funeral Home - Fred Lee Ashburn

Funeral Services for Mr. Fred Lee Ashburn, age 88, of the Oak Grove Community will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 6, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Darek Copeland, and Bro. John Copeland will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens.  The family will welcome friends on Wednesday, from 12 noon until time of services.

Fred passed from this life on Sunday night, March 3, 2024, from the comfort of his home.  He was born at home in the Ivyton Community on February 18, 1936, to the late Edgar Lee and Vallie Harp Ashburn.  Fred was a 1954 graduate of Rickman High School.  Fred owned and operated Ashburn Backhoe Services for many years, where he enjoyed helping and meeting new people.  He enjoyed just being at home on his farm working his cattle.  In his younger days he enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle.  Fred was a wonderful family man who looked forward to family gatherings.

Fred leaves behind his loving wife of 65 years, Mrs. Carol Ann Copeland Ashburn of the Oak Grove Community; daughter, Lynn Ashburn and friend Joyce Walls of Rickman, TN; sons, David Ashburn and wife Donna of the West Fork Community, and Neil Ashburn and wife Susan of Livingston, TN; grandchildren, Courtney Thomas and husband Jon, Jessica White and husband Andrew, Jordan Ashburn and wife Mary, and Sarah Grace Ashburn; great-grandchildren, Ava Thomas, Tucker Ray Ashburn, Aiden White, Ben White, Ella Jane Ashburn, and Jhett Lee Ashburn

In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Geraldine Roach, and Emmajean Ashburn, brother, William Ashburn.

Freds Grandchildren will be Pallbearers.
