Speck Funeral Home- Harold Fletcher Obituary

Harold Fletcher, age 87, of Livingston, Tennessee, was called home to be with the Lord on April 2, 2026. Born on March 12, 1939, in Free Communion area of Overton County. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Livingston Methodist Church, with services beginning at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Jeff Cotterman. Burial will follow at Overton County Memorial Gardens. Harold spent his entire life rooted in the community he loved, dedicating himself to service, faith, and family.

Harold answered the call to serve his country as a member of the National Guard, a commitment that reflected the sense of duty and responsibility he carried throughout his life. A proud Mason and Shriner, he valued the bonds of brotherhood and the principles of integrity those organizations represent. Harold was also the owner of the Livingston Wilbert Vault Co., where he built a reputation as a hardworking and dependable businessman. His dedication to the Livingston community extended well beyond his professional life. He served as a City Alderman and as a member of the City Planning Commission, contributing his time and energy to shaping the future of the town he called home.

Harold was a man who lived his values quietly and consistently. Those who knew him understood that his character was defined not by grand gestures but by the steady, faithful way he showed up for others. It was his compassion for others that left the deepest mark. At Livingston Methodist Church, where he was a devoted member, Harold helped start a food ministry that served those in need throughout the community. This ministry became one of many expressions of a life guided by Christian love and service.

Harold was preceded in death by his father Bethel Fletcher, mother Dulcie Fletcher Garrett, stepfather father Castle Garret, sister Edith Lund Newkirk, brother Tony Garrett, and brother Michael Garrett. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Leigha Kemp Fletcher, and his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Fletcher and Charles Nicholson, 13 nieces and nephews, a plethora of great nieces and nephews, along with a wide circle of family, friends and community members whose lives he touched.

Harold's faith was the foundation upon which he built everything. He walked with the Lord daily, and his life bore witness to the grace and purpose he found in that relationship. It is fitting that his legacy be remembered in the words of 2 Timothy 4:7: "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremy Garrett, Austin Garrett, Cody Garrett, Ethan Wilson, Daivd Vallee, and Shauz Daniels. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Norrod, Cleston Daniels, Ron Moore, Jim Wood, and Ritchie Kubishik, and Kelly Rich.
