Funeral Services for Mr. Howard Jr. Johnson, age 73, of Hartsville will be conducted 3 p.m., Sunday, February 4, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Ray Sanders will officiate. Burial will follow in the Copeland Cemetery at West Fork. The family will welcome friends from 1:30 p.m. until time of services
Howard Jr. Johnson better known as "Sweetie" Sweenie" or Fat Howard" was born to the late John L. and Rebecca Lucille Johnson on September 11, 1950. He was a hard worker, who enjoyed spending his free time camping and fishing. He was a race car fan and enjoyed hunting. Above all he loved his family dearly.
He is survived by two brothers Hobert Lee Johnson and friend Betty Dial of Joelton, TN and William "Willie" L. Johnson of Hartsville, TN; two sisters Priscilla Elmore of Hartsville, TN and Donna Marie Dorris of Mt. Juliet, TN; one sister-in-law Elizabeth Johnson of Hartsville, TN; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife Anita Marie Johnson; two sons Jimmy Ray Johnson, Sr. and Johnny Darrell Johnson; daughter April Marie Hawks; and two great-granddaughters, a brother Robert Lee Johnson.
Pallbearers to serve are Logan Johnson, Mitch Conner, Roy Abston, Brandon Johnson, David Lee Johnson, Joseph Lee Phillips, Cameron Oldham, and Thomas Daniel Elmore. Honorary pallbearer to serve are J T Brown.
