Funeral Services for Mr. Hoyt Ray Padgett, age 76, of Livingston, Tennessee will be conducted 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2024, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home.  The family will welcome friends on Tuesday from 12 noon until time of services.  Burial to follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard.

Mr. Padgett passed from this life on Saturday evening, August 24, 2024, from the Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Cookeville, Tennessee. He was born in Overton County, Tennessee on April 19, 1948, to the late Ray and Marie Bowman Padgett.  A 1966 graduate of Livingston Academy and served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War.  Hoyt was a member of the First Church in Livingston, where he led music and taught Sunday school for many years.  He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar on many occasions in the community. He also loved collecting and trading old cars, and knives with his friends.

Hoyt leaves behind his two daughters, Holly Padgett and partner David Nimmo of Cookeville, TN, and Katie Ledbetter and husband Nick of Rickman, TN; grandchildren, Eli Kirk, Hannah Kirk, Conner Kirk, Cajun Ledbetter, and Sam Kirk; great-grandchild, Ben Kirk.

In addition to his parents, Hoyt was preceded in death by his wife, Judy Johnson Padgett and grandparents, Carvill and Callie Bowman.
