Speck Funeral Home - Ida "Crickett" Kesler

Funeral Services for Mrs. Ida Crickett Kesler, age 87, of Alabama and formerly of Overton County will be conducted 3 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2023, from the Dodson Chapel Methodist Church.  The family will welcome friends on Sunday afternoon from 2 until time of services at the church.

Crickett was born in Rickman, Tennessee, on October 20, 1935 to the late Tommy and Mary Ann Dodson.  She attended the local public schools there. She married her first husband Terry Heckathorn. His career with Firestone relocated them many times across the Southeast where she made lifelong friends as neighbor, church friend and co-worker. After his death Crickett met and married Randy Kesler. She was loved dearly by the members of the churches Randy has served as pastor. Crickett adored and was dedicated to her family. Always the gracious hostess, mother, grandmother and great- grandmother.

In addition to her parents, Crickett was preceded in death by her sisters, Curtis Officer and Joyce Windle, and brother Kenneth Dodson.

Survivors include her husband Randy Kesler, son Frank (Susie) Heckathorn. Grandsons Patrick (Jamila) Heckathorn, and Andrew Heckathorn. Great-grandchildren Norah Heckathorn and Frank Heckathorn. One sister Barbara (Eugene) Gilliam. Many loved nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023 at Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church. Visitation from 11:00-12:00 and service at 12:00.
