Graveside Services for Mrs. Mary Imojean Wright, age 97, of Lebanon, and formerly of Overton County, Tennessee, will be held at 2 o’clock in the afternoon on Friday, the 9th of May, 2025, at Wirmingham Cemetery, with Brother Joel Norris officiating. Family and friends are welcome to gather at the graveside to pay their respects.

Mrs. Imojean passed peacefully from this life on Saturday evening, May 3, 2025, at NHC Place at the Trace in Nashville, Tennessee.

Born at home in the Oakley Community of Overton County on April 27, 1928, to the late Thomas Maynord and Effie Dennis Maynord, Imojean was raised with strong values and a tireless work ethic that stayed with her all her life. She was a member of the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. She was member of the Livingston Academy graduating class of 1946.

Imojean was a woman who believed in doing things the right way — with care, with effort, and without complaint. Whether working outside the home or tending to her own household, she gave every task her best. She was no stranger to hard work and never asked for more than she gave. She had a deep appreciation for simple beauty and found joy in her garden, especially in her favorite flowers — touch-me-nots and mums.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 72 years, Mr. Kenneth Robert Wright of Lebanon, Tennessee, as well as a host of loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her dear parents, along with her sisters, Mrs. Odel Spicer and Mrs. Ruby Dean Bilbrey, and her brothers, Mr. Clyde Maynord and Mr. Clifford Maynord and Mr. Clarence Maynord

Mrs. Imojean’s life was one of quiet strength, unwavering faith, and the kind of dignity that comes from living true to one’s roots. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
