Speck Funeral Home - J.C. Cantrell Obituary

Mr. J.C. Cantrell, age 77, of the Linder Mountain Community, passed away on March 4, 2025, at Ascension St. Thomas Hospital Midtown in Nashville. He was born on November 30, 1947, in Mayland, Tennessee, to the late Tilbert Cantrell and Hessie Hammock Cantrell.

J.C. worked for many years at the Berkline Furniture Corporation, and while he was proud of his work, he found the most joy in the simple pleasures of life—spending time with his family. He had a deep love for his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and cherished every moment he could share with them. J.C. also had a love for coin collecting and attending auctions, but nothing meant more to him than his family.

J.C. is survived by his devoted wife of many years, Mrs. Lois Linder Cantrell, of the Linder Mountain Community. He also leaves behind his sons: Craig Cantrell, Michael Cantrell and his wife Lynn, and Mark Cantrell and his wife Kristie, all of Livingston, TN, and his daughter, Tammy Presley and her husband Johnny, of Livingston, TN.

J.C. was a proud grandfather to Allie Cantrell, Brayden Cantrell, Brody Presley, Tess Landers, Olivia Scott, and Brantley Cantrell, and a great-grandfather to Maverick Landers, Titus Parsons, and Wyatt Scott. He is also survived by his brother, Jewell Cantrell and his wife Linda of Allons, TN, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, J.C. was preceded in death by his grandson, David Cantrell, his sister, Corneila Linder, and his brother, J.D. Cantrell.

There are no services scheduled at this time, but J.C.’s memory will be kept alive in the hearts of his loved ones, and he will always be remembered for his quiet strength and his love for his family.
