Speck Funeral Home - James Hummel Obituary

Funeral Services for Mr. James Oman Hummel, age 82, of Livingston will be conducted 2 p.m., Monday, March 15, 2021 from the Fellowship Baptist Church.  Bro. Brett Gibbons will officiate.  Burial to follow in the Fellowship Cemetery.  The family will welcome friends on Monday morning from 11 a.m., until time of services at the Fellowship Baptist Church.

Mr. James Hummel passed from this life on Friday evening, March 12, 2021 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center.  He was born in in the Willow Grove Community on February 15, 1939 to the late Carvell Cordell and Dessie B. Dennis Hummel.  James was a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church and was retired from General Motors.   After his retirement, James moved his family back to Tennessee where he enjoyed cattle farming, and horse trading.  His passion was collecting and trading cars.  James also loved his family dearly and enjoyed watching westerns on television.  

James leaves behind his loving wife of 29 years, Mrs. Debra Lambert Hummel of Livingston, TN; daughters, Leslie Reeder and husband Randy of Livingston, TN, Angelina McDonald of Allons, TN, and Candice Biddle and husband Tyson of Allons, TN; grandchildren, Andrew Reeder and wife Ashleigh, Brady Reeder, Trista Kruep and husband Drake, Taylor Whited, Kami Jo Covey, and Tessa Cate Biddle; great-grandson, Aksel Kruep; sisters, Anna Dean Maples of Richmond, IN, Angeline Eversole of Kansas, and Genell Jones of Livingston, TN; several nieces and nephews also survive.

In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his brothers, Freeman, Shorty, Waymon ,and Carlos Hummel.

Pallbearers to serve are Randy Reeder, Andrew Reeder, Brady Reeder, Joe Covey, Tyson Biddle, and Tyler Biddle.

Memorial Donations in Memory of James Hummel may be made to the Fellowship Cemetery by contacting Speck Funeral Home.
