Mr. Jeffery "Jeff" Douglas Smith, age 60, of Monroe passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, from Cookeville Regional Medical Center. 

Funeral service for Mr. Jeff Smith will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Brother John Copeland to officiate. Burial to follow in the Beaty Cemetery. Family will welcome friends on Monday, June 15 from 9 a.m. until time of service. 

Jeff was born in Livingston, TN on April 9, 1966, to the late Ronald and Mary John Robbins Smith. Jeff was a farmer who loved the outdoors and took pride in a hard day's work. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his faithful dog, Pee Wee. Jeff was rarely still. If he wasn't gardening, cleaning fence rows, working on tractors, or tending cattle, he was finding another project to keep his hands busy. He especially enjoyed working and spending time at the Doc House, a place that meant a great deal to him. Jeff was known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit. If someone needed help, he was always willing to lend a hand. He treasured the time he spent with his family and enjoyed being together whenever he could. A man who worked from dawn until dusk, Jeff found purpose in hard work, helping others, and caring for the things and people he loved. Jeff will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and willingness to help anyone in need. His legacy lives on in the family and friends he cherished and in the many lives he touched through his hard work and generous heart.

Jeff is survived by his son Stenson Smith and wife Emily of Chattanooga, TN; daughters Dara Burgess and husband Ben of Brentwood, TN and Jenna Lovell and husband Tyler of Fairview, TN; grandchildren Stenson Smith, Jr., Emerson Burgess, Reese Burgess, Collins Lovell, and Ty Lovell; sister Marsha Norrod and husband Jeff of Monroe, TN; brother Michael Smith and wife Tonie; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in by his brothers Ricky Smith and Randy Smith.

Pallbearers to serve are Ethan Norrod, Elliot Norrod, Hayden Smith, Michael Smith, Stenson Smith, and Jeff Norrod.
