Celebration of life service honoring, Jessie Ray Stover, age 78, of Livingston, TN will be conducted Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Speck Funeral Chapel. Bro. Roger Lehman will officiate. Family will welcome friends on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. Jessie will be laid to rest beside her husband of 59 years, Mearl Stover, in Overton County Memorial Gardens in Livingston, TN.

Jessie was born on May 18, 1945, to the late James Spurgeon and Nannie Mae (McDonald) Cantrell at home in Overton County, TN, and passed from this life on May 5, 2024. She graduated from Livingston Academy in 1963 and was a lifelong resident of Overton County. Jessie worked at different factories over the years which included The Livingston Shirt Factory, Tri-Con Industries, and Hutchinsons. It was during her time at the factories that she met and made many lifelong friends. All who met her adored her, and always remarked what a sweet lady she was. Jessie thoroughly enjoyed conversation with her friends and family. She loved her family and friends dearly. 

Jessie is survived by two brothers, Odell Cantrell of Pendleton, IN and Howard Cantrell of Carlisle, OH. Although Jessie and her husband never had any children of their own, she is survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great- great nephews, great-great-great nieces, and great-great-great nephews who loved her dearly. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Mearl Stover, parents James Spurgeon and Nannie Mae Cantrell, infant brother Little Coy, brothers Ray Cantrell, Roy Cantrell, and Clyde Cantrell, and sisters Ruth Dishman, Clara Guenthenspberger, and Betty Oakley.
