Speck Funeral Home- Jimmy Edward Hooks Obituary
Mr. Jimmy Edward Hooks, 76, of Livingston, met his savior, Jesus Christ, face to face on October 19th 2025 from the Pickett Care and Rehabilitation Center in Byrdstown. He was born in Livingston TN on March 3rd, 1949 to Hasker and Wilma Hooks. He was raised in Hilham with his brother Donald Hooks and his sisters Brenda Harris and Janice Brown.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday October 21st at 3 pm from the Chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston TN. The family will welcome friends from 1 pm until the start of the funeral. Burial will be in the Holly Springs Cemetery in Overton County. Officiating the services will be Bro. David Sadler Jr and Bro. Tripp Sadler.
He loved to find treasures that other people thought was just junk and never missed a chance at hitting the yard sales on the weekends. As he aged but never matured, he enjoyed searching Youtube for latest humorous videos. It didn't have to be a special occasion to get a text from Jimmy so he could tell you how he "love you muchly, mucherio, morest, and out the ying-yang!". Never one for keeping his opinions to himself, he would often share his mind about the current state of affairs in this world - especially when it came to politics. Generous to a fault, if there is such a thing, Jimmy would give everything he had because money and possessions were not a priority in his life. The people in his life were much more important than worldly things. That is not to say that good biscuits and gravy, a hot cup of black coffee, and KFC chicken and coleslaw weren't cherished because they were. Jimmy had the honor of being the president of The Hot Dogs Anonymous Club. Never mind that this was a self-appointed position because he held this position with pride. Jimmy is survived by his daughter and son in law, Melody and David Sadler, his daughter in law, TaShana Hooks, daughter Melissa Hooks, and son and daughter in law Steve and Kris Hooks. He is The Pa, not just a pa but The Pa, to Ethan Hooks, Eli and Nicole Sadler, Emma Sadler, Tripp Sadler, Malyne Copeland, Adaline Copeland, Lyra Clayburn, Terri Bledsoe, Tamara and Charles Green, Dylan Hooks, and Cody Hooks. He is the great grandpa to Lydia, NyJuh, Nikoli, Mason, and Kylie. He also leaves behind special friends Wendell Walker and Pam and David Sadler.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his youngest son Chris Hooks, his parents, and his brother and sisters.
While he will be missed greatly it is a comfort to know that he is eternally at rest in the arms of Jesus.
